cha winter 2012 | doodlebug designs

The Doodlebug booth at CHA Winter 2012 was a truly fun place to walk into. At the summer show last year it was all decked out for Christmas, but for this show it was totally spring-ified and in bloom!

I love the little windows on the booth that give it the feeling of walking into an actual store.

There's even a little shop counter complete with stools!

Doodlebug definitely had Easter in mind when they made this setup- it was too adorably cute!

But that's enough with the setup browsing, because Doodlebug had some great product to show off, too!

The first things that caught my eye were the latest additions to the Doodle Twine line (I had a mini freak-out moment in their booth at the summer show when I discovered the first Doodle Twine cards and spools- I'm sure they think I'm crazy!).

There are new twine cards to match the upcoming collections...

...and several new colors of spooled twine, as well!

I spied a gray and a purple in the mix, and that made me a happy girl indeed!

This cute little frame sums up the new twine colors, which cover everything from babies to Valentines to teen boys.

Hello Spring is the first of the new paper and embellishment collections that we'll look at. It uses lots of purple and yellow and combines them with pops of green and even a bit of orange.

There's a spring themed expansion to the Create-A-Card line, as well.

Doodlebug introduced two new baby themed collections at the show- one for boys and one for girls. Both opt for a strong mix of both bold colors and pastels, so you still get that signature Doodlebug pop of color, but there are some lighter tones to calm things down a bit, too.

Snips and Snails is the boy line...

...and Sugar and Spice is Doodlebug's baby girl collection. I'm loving the inclusion of orange in the palette!

Doodlebug is also releasing a collection targeted for teen boys called Boys Only. The scarcity of scrapbooking products with a more masculine theme is a recurring topic on many message boards, and Doodlebug's new line featuring bold blues and oranges will definitely help fill that niche.

Doodlebug also displayed a few of their older lines that are still in stock. Nifty Notions sports a brightly colored vintage sewing and domestic theme, while Ladybug Garden is pure bright floral fun!

Doodlebug's Valentine's line, Sweet Cakes, has been on store shelves for a month or two now. In fact, you can find it at both Scrapbook.com and Two Peas in a Bucket. If you love pure pinks and reds for Valentine's day, you'll definitely want to pick up this collection!

There's a coordinating Create a Card line here, too, and with its inclusion of cupcake, strawberry, bird, and other non-holiday specific motifs it's versatile enough to be used for many other occasions in addition to being perfect for Valentine's.

Doodlebug always makes great basics in every color in their signature palette, and those were on display in the booth, too.

I'm pretty much completely in love with this dotted, glittered cardstock- it's just so happy!

Doodlebug has also teamed up with Hampton Art and ColorBox to produce a signature line of stamps and inks, also in the company's long-standing color palette.

The new Doodlebug collections should begin shipping in March, and both Two Peas in a Bucket and Scrapbook.com carry the company's products and also have some of the existing Doodlebug items already in stock.
