layout | birthday girl

Birthday/Mother's Day/Father's Day season seems to run from March to June around here. In that short span of time we have two major holidays, plus oodles of birthdays (including Mom, Beth, and me, just to name a few). We seem to be celebrating something every other weekend these days! And in the fall there's another big clump, but that's another story for another day.

Today's story is about Beth's birthday party at the end of April. I've already blogged it and scrapped several pages of photos from the event, but none of them were specifically about her birthday...until now. So, here you go, Beth. :)

Supplies | Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket (DeLovely "Delightful"), My Mind's Eye, Pink Paislee (Hometown Summer "Neighborhood Pool"), Die Cuts With a View (Mango Frost); Buttons: Papertrey Ink; Brad, Metal Accent, Acetate Flower: Making Memories; Letter Stickers: American Crafts (blue), Studio Calico (State Fair - Pink); Banner Sticker: Sassafras (Paper Crush); Die Cuts: Cosmo Cricket (Upcycle); Journaling Sticker: Jenni Bowlin; Decorative Tape: Hambly Screen Prints, Martha Stewart Crafts; Journaling Transparency: K and Company; Date Stamp: Office Supply; Pen: Zig Millenium

All supplies for this page came from my May Counterfeit Kit. It's packed full of such vibrant, juicy colors that are perfect for a festive outdoor page.

I experimented with edge treatments on both the top and bottom of the page. These, like buttons, are a perfect way to bring balance to the Force your layout by giving an empty area a bit more visual weight. Plus they're just fun to make. :)
