December Daily: Days 21-25

We've reached the final post in my December Daily series!! Today I'll show days 21-25 (kind of fitting since today is January 25- I'm only a month behind). If you missed any previous posts, you can find them here:
Day 21:

Baking day! I received this "grocery list" journaling card in a Studio Calico kit several months ago, but I had no idea what I was going to use it on at the time. It was perfect for a cookie baking page!

Again, I couldn't bear to cover up the Life at the Pole paper, so I based the whole page on a Hambly transparency. And I used yet another photo collage. I have no idea how I would have made it through this album without them.

Day 22:

Day 23:

I used another transparency on this page, but this time as an overlay to the photos underneath. The transparency is not adhered, so it can be turned like a page to reveal the photos underneath.

Day 24:

I included a scan of the order of service for the orchestra at Willowbrook's Christmas Eve services.

Day 25:

Merry Christmas!

December Daily: Days 16-20

Welcome to post 4 of 5 in my December Daily series, which includes days 16-20 of my December Daily Album. If you missed any of the previous posts, here's a list:
Day 16:

This page turned out to be more of a mini-album of pages. I had so many collections of Christmas ornaments that I wanted to document, so I assembled photo collages in Photoshop Elements and printed them each as a single unit.

Days 17&18:

The photographs of these pages ran together, so I'm presenting them together, as well. I photographed and displayed several decorations around the house in the 2x2 slots of this 35mm slide protector sheet.

For the 18th, I printed a photo of my Christmas cards, adhered it to the shaped page, and then used my Cutterbees to trim the photo to the shape of the page.

Day 19:

A simple page for a simple day. It was my first evening of vacation from work, and I spent pretty much the whole time catching up on some scrapping.

Day 20:

Yet another photo collage and another sheet of vintage sheet music that I couldn't bear to cover. I love the title of the song. So true.

40 Inspirational Speeches in 2 Minutes

So many awesome movies here. I love the cut to the score of Independence Day toward the end- it's a permanent resident of my iPod. Takes me back to the days when I wanted to elect Bill Pullman president. Come to think of it, that might not be so bad today, either...

December Daily: Days 11-15

We've arrived at post 3 my December Daily series, which includes days 11-15 of my December Daily Album. Previous posts can be found here:
I hope that you're not getting tired of Christmas pages yet! I can say that this has been a much better alternative to my previous method of scrapbooking Christmas which usually yielded 18+ pages that took up almost a whole 12x12 album of their own. I will probably do 2-4 pages of Christmas for my regular scrapbook and let this mini-album serve as the majority of my Christmas scrapping for 2008. And I will definitely be doing this project again next year!

Day 11:

The Glimmer Mist on the back of the snowflake shaped page didn't turn out quite as I'd hoped it would, but it's still a nice bit of sparkle.

Day 12:

Day 13:

I scanned and printed the wish list of the foster child that we shopped for this Christmas and included it with a photo of the gifts that were purchased.

Day 14:

All I can say is that the cats have not yet killed me in my sleep, but I think they're still plotting it...

Day 15:

The Pink is on!

You know you're in a nutty mood when your post title spoofs an old Glenn Frey song... :-)

I discovered my latest pink accessory while searching my local Michael's last Friday for the elusive Martha Stewart Valentine Lace Edge Punch. They didn't have the punch, but they did have these adorable Amy Butler Totes on clearance. I picked up two, some Amy Butler fabric covered brads that were on clearance for 99 cents, and an assortment of goodies from the dollar bins.

There is a new set of lessons beginning in the Two Peas education forum- Kristina Werner is hosting a series called A Year In Cards. Each month there will be complete instructions (including downloadable PDFs) for making a different set of cards. Below is my take on this month's set. I'm totally looking forward to the rest of these classes!

December Daily: Days 6-10

Here are days 6-10 of my December Daily Album. If you missed the previous post of days 1-5, you can find it here, and the original album is here.

Day 6:

Snowboarding! I saved the trail map and included it here in a little 6x6 page protector I found in my stash.

Day 7:

I played around with panoramas in Photoshop Elements. I think there were almost 70 photos stitched together to make this one shot.

Day 8:

I included the map from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in another 6x6 page protector. I had so many animal photos that I couldn't just choose one, so I made a collage of several of them. That also became a recurring theme in the album.

Day 9:

Day 10:

Yes, my photos from the rifle range also ended up in the book.

Going over to the pink side

I am not a girly girl by any stretch of the imagination. I like my cargo pants, whether they're in fashion or not, and I much prefer something made by Columbia, Kelty, or The North Face to Gucci, Prada, and Versace.

And I normally abhor the color pink.

I'll pause a moment to let some of you digest that statement, because I know there are a lot of pink lovers out there. :)

I've decided, though, to let a little pink into my world for the next few weeks. It started with these adorable pajamas that I found at Target last Sunday. I love the rainbows on the pants, and the shirt...well, how could anything that advertises "Cupid's Lollipops" not be simply adorable?

I'm not going to go totally pink, but I did get out some scrappy supplies of that hue and make a couple Valentine's Day cards to enter into some sketch challenges this week.

This card is for this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

And this one is for this week's CPS sketch.

After February 14th, though, I'm back on a strictly no-pink diet. Except I may have to keep wearing that shirt...

December Daily: Days 1-5

I finally finished my December Daily album over the weekend. I didn't have the time to actually scrap each day as it happened, but I made sure to take my photos each day and save some items to include. Editing and printing the photos took the most time, made worse by the fact that my printer ran out of color ink with four pages still to print!! I had to put the project on hold for almost a week while I ordered ink and waited patiently for Staples to deliver it (via the big brown truck of happiness), because of course nobody in town actually carries ink for my printer.

I'll not bombard you with all twenty-five days of finished pages at once (that would be a bit much, and a pain for me to upload and write all in one shot), so I'll show five pages at a time spaced over five posts and hopefully get it all up in the next couple of weeks.

First of all, the completed book...and boy, did it get fat!! I love the layered look of all the different sizes and edges of the pages.

Day 1:

I added an extra page to this day because I had several photos I wanted to use.

Day 2:

This day was a little difficult to fit in, but I finally decided to print a 5x7 of the really good shot my Dad got of the lunar/planetary alignment and then cut it into four segments and put each in a slot of the baseball card protector page. It gave it a sort of "window" effect. The three shots on the other side are the not-so-great ones that I took.

Day 3:

Day 4:

I couldn't bear to cover this vintage sheet music, so I used a patterned transparency as my page base and just left the sheet music as it was.

Day 5:

This Sassafras Lass "Life at the Pole" paper became a recurring theme throughout the album.

More to come on this in a couple of days!
